WELL WOMAN EXAMS

At Missouri Midwifery, we make sure you are healthy, even if you are not currently expecting. Outside of our prenatal and postpartum care, we also offer well woman exams as a service for all women. We believe in a holistic approach to all aspects of reproductive health and aim to provide care, knowledge, and support to every woman who comes to our center.

WHAT IS A WELL WOMAN EXAM?

A well woman exam is an annual appointment where a woman meets with one of our Certified Nurse Midwives to check her overall reproductive health. Our goal is to provide a relaxing environment for a woman to get answers to any questions and have a better grasp on her reproductive health.

At Missouri Midwifery, our well woman exams are for every woman. While we do specialize in care focused on the labor and birth process, we provide holistic care and support for women regardless of their focus on family planning. Our well woman exams are great for women who would like more information about:

• Pre-conception planning
• Preventive reproductive health
• Menopause
• Disease and cancer screenings

A well woman exam is more than just a physical check up. Our exams focus on your mental and emotional health as well as your physical health. Our Certified Nurse Midwives may ask you about your family, job, and any stress. They will also ask you questions about your menstrual cycles, your sex life, and any family history of reproductive cancers. Answers to these questions will allow us to better meet your reproductive health needs and create a more comprehensive understanding of other services we may be able to offer.
